Junior and High School students in Tessenei city have asserted readiness to participate in the implementation of development programs.
Tessenei, 04 march2014 – Junior and High School students in Tessenei city have asserted readiness to participate in the implementation of development programs. They made the pledged in connection with a tour they made to the strategic micro-dams in the region such as Gerset, Fanko-Tsimue and Fanko-Rawi vis-à-vis the irrigation activities being undertaken in their environs.
Among the students, Michaele Mebrahtu, Ruta Maekele and Abdalla Mohammed-Idris expressed conviction that organizing such a tour is vital as regards instigating student volunteering in development activities, and lauded the putting in place of vital agricultural infrastructures in the sites.
Mr. Bereket Tium, School Administrator, equally asserted that such an exposure is a prerequisite in nurturing correct understanding among students pertaining to the nation’s developmental pace, and thus inspiring their active participation to this end. Communal input in development programs is irreplaceably important as far as realizing the cherished goals thereof is concerned, he added.
Likewise, Mr. Huruy Woldeab, Head of the Tourism Ministry’s branch in Tessenei sub-zone, explained that the event is also aimed at giving impetus to domestic tourism vis-à-vis encouraging student and youth participation in development undertakings. He further called on school Administrations to organize similar tours.
