Endeavors made to meet growing demand for potable water in Hagaz through renovation of water wells

The Administration of Hagaz indicated that endeavors have been made to meet the growing demand for potable water in the semi-urban center through renovation of water wells filled with alluvial deposits.

Hagaz, 06 March 2014 – The Administration of Hagaz indicated that endeavors have been made to meet the growing demand for potable water in the semi-urban center through renovation of water wells filled with alluvial deposits.

Mr. Tahir Osman, Head of the semi-urban center’s water development, pointed out that 3 more wells have been drilled, besides the replacement of old pipe lines. He further called and called on the residents to resort to judicious utilization of water.

Mr. Abduselam Asenai from Hagaz’s water development explained department on his part that the task could be implemented successfully by Eritrea Drilling and Mining Company, while a fourth well could not be restored as it is filled by stone.

Representing the drilling and mining company, Mr. Michael Habte stated that it is playing supplementary role as regards giving impetus to government endeavors of promoting potable water supply in rural areas. He further disclosed that the process involved technical challenges, and lauded the collaboration of the Administration to this end.
