Asmara Community College of Education is offering training at diploma and certificate level with a view to meeting the growing demand for teachers.
Asmara, 10 March 2014 – Asmara Community College of Education is offering training at diploma and certificate level with a view to meeting the growing demand for teachers.
Mr. Alem Gebrekal, Director of the Institute, said that the College has given admission to a total of 200 veteran teachers, school directors and supervisors to upgrade their academic qualifications and inspire their administrative competence. He further indicated that the number of new students registered for the Certificate program stands at 600.
Accordingly, the Community College has been exerting endeavors towards equipping teachers with the required knowledge, and that subsequently a number of staff members have attended Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in line with its human resource development scheme.
Among students, Yope Natnael, Bekita Ibrahim, Zerai Kidane, Randa Abdu and Nura Gaas voiced satisfaction with the educational opportunity accorded them at government expenditure, and said that they would serve the people with dedication.
The College which currently has a total of 40 instructors has so far graduated around 10,000 teachers right after the nation’s independence.
