The Administration of Police Station II in Assab city has called for raised communal cooperation with the Police with a view to lowering instances of crime.

Assab, 10 March 2014 – The Administration of Police Station II in Assab city has called for raised communal cooperation with the Police with a view to lowering instances of crime. It made the call at a meeting with the residents of the port city, during which Capt. Mebrahtu Yemane, Commander of the Police station, gave briefings concerning community awareness vis-à-vis the goals of the Police Force and communal responsibility regarding crime prevention.

Accordingly, the number of cases of crime addressed last year stands at 224, the majority of which were settled through popular participation.

Capt. Mebrahtu went on to point out that crime prevention is a rather sound strategy as vis-à-vis promoting security, and urged business owners to avoid means that expose them to robbery.

The participants of the meeting asserted readiness to step up collaboration with the Police.
