The Health Ministry’s branch in the Administration of the Northern Red Sea region indicated that enhanced promotional activities would be conducted with a view to giving added impetus to community-based environmental hygiene in Ginda sub-zone.

Ginda, 11 March 2014 – The Health Ministry’s branch in the Administration of the Northern Red Sea region indicated that enhanced promotional activities would be conducted with a view to giving added impetus to community-based environmental hygiene in Ginda sub-zone.

It made the remark at a meeting with Area administrators and community leaders, during which Mr. Manna Yohannes, Head of environmental hygiene in the branch office, disclosed that 5 Administrative areas have met the set goal to this end while the rest are string towards realizing it. He further called for higher communal awareness in this regard with a view to registering remarkable drop as regards instances of diseases.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Omar Yahiya, Administrator of the sub-zone, noted the negative impact of unhygienic environment on community health in general and that of children in particular, and equally called on the community to demonstrate higher awareness thereof.

Mr. Eskindir Isaac, Administrator of Nefasit area, and Mr. Suleiman Ibrahim, Managing Director of the Administration of Tsirat area, stated that the secret behind such accomplishment is the growing popular responsiveness regarding environmental hygiene.

Reports indicated that similar meetings were conducted in the sub-zones of Adobha, Nacfa, Qrora, Afabet and She’ib.
