The inhabitants of Forto-Sawa sub-zone have asserted readiness to enhance judicious utilization of social service facilities, besides sustaining communal initiative regarding soil and water conservation.
Forto-Sawa, 11 March 2014 – The inhabitants of Forto-Sawa sub-zone have asserted readiness to enhance judicious utilization of social service facilities, besides sustaining communal initiative regarding soil and water conservation. They made the pledge at a meeting with Mr. Abubaker Mohammed, Administrator of the sub-zone, during which he pointed out that various facilities such as that of educational, health, and potable water supply facilities have been put in place in the locality in a bid to improve community livelihood.
The sub-zonal Administrator went on to explain that popular ventures have made positive impact as regards soil and water conservation in agricultural areas, and urged the community members to sustain the initiative until the onset of the rainy season. Moreover, he called on them to take similar initiative concerning environmental hygiene.
Also speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ogbai Gebreamlak, Head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Forto-Sawa, called on the inhabitants of the sub-zone who are leading a scattered pattern of living to resort to community-based lifestyle and extend a helping hand pertaining to afforestation.
Likewise, Ms. Amna Ejel, Head of the NUEW branch in the sub-zone, said that stepped-up efforts would be made towards inspiring the participation of members in all domains, including communal activities.
