Members of 70 village committees in Southern region obtain training in water management

Members of a total of 70 village committees in Southern region, including Area administrators, have became beneficiaries of a training in water management organized by experts from Mendefera sub-zone’s Water Department.

Mendefera, 11 March 2014 – Members of a total of 70 village committees in Southern region, including Area administrators, have became beneficiaries of a training in water management organized by experts from Mendefera sub-zone’s Water Department.The training involved the financial aspect of water management.

Speaking at the conclusion of the training, Mr. Hailemichael Eyob, Director General of the Agriculture and Land Department in the regional Administration, indicated that the government has been making sustained endeavors in connection as regards potable water supply outreach. He further noted the vitality of the trainees’ role as regards popularizing prudent utilization of water resources.

Likewise, Mr. Afewerki Russom, Head of Project Management in the region, urged the trainees to extend a helping hand towards inspiring communal participation in the implementation of water projects.

Among the trainees, Mr. Amha Gebreamlak, Administrator of Koatit village, Ms. Nebiat Tesfamichael, Mr. Tesfamariam Kidane, Administrator of Administrator of Danba village, and Mr. Mengisteab Tsehaye respectively asserted that they would do their level best to promoting community awareness regarding effective and hygienic utilization of water resources.
