Hagaz, 14 March 2014 –The community health representatives in Hagaz sub-zone have asserted readiness to promote community health, and that the training they received recently has added impetus tot their career.
Among the community health representatives, Mr. Adem Ali Kerar, Mr. Idris Ali and Mr. Mohammed Osman lauded the government’s commitment as regards furthering health service outreach, and that they would step up efforts in a bid to control communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Mr. Musie Gebrehiwet, head of environmental health in the sub-zone who conducted the training, pointed out the importance of proper application of drugs, malaria diagnosis, appropriate use of mosquito nets, the care taken for children below 5 years of age and reporting of prevalence of diseases. He further called on the trainees to translate the knowledge they have acquired into practice, and demonstrate enhanced collaboration with health institutions.
Likewise, Mr. Gebremeskel Gebrehiwet, Head of the Health Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, sated that good results could be achieved with regards controlling the prevalence of diseases with integrated efforts between the community and health professionals.
Ms. Amna Haj, Administrator of Hagaz sub-zone, on her part called on the community to strengthen participation in the efforts to provide health services to the society.
