Election of Area administrators conducted in Hirgigo Administrative area

Election of Area administrators, work managers and village administrators has been on 10 March in Hirgigo Administrative area, Northern Red Sea region.

Massawa, 14 March 2014 – Election of Area administrators, work managers and village administrators has been on 10 March in Hirgigo Administrative area, Northern Red Sea region.

Among the voters, Mr. Mohammed Saleh and Ms. Kedija Ahmed said that the newly elected are due to serve the community with honesty and dedication, and called on fellow inhabitants to collaborate with the newly elected.

Mr. Abdu Kuluha, the newly elected work manager, said that he would do his level best to serve the community with commitment, and expressed appreciation for the higher spirit of enthusiasm witnessed in the election process on the part of women.

Mr. Kidane Woldesilasie, Mayor of the port city of Massawa, disclosed that such election would be conducted every 2 years, and that popular campaigns would be conducted focusing on environmental hygiene, afforestation and construction as well as renovation of water diversion canals, among others.
