Mahimnet, 19 March 2014- The veteran fighters who participated in the battle for the demise of Wukaw Iz expressed that conducting integrated efforts are imperative to document and transfer the heroic feats demonstrated during the operation to posterity.

They articulated appreciation that the 30th anniversary of Wukaw Iz is celebrated at the very front where history was made, and called for strong agitprop so that the heroism demonstrated there is transferred to generations.

Mr. Hassan Mohammed Idris and Mr. Fuad Saleh indicated that the exhaustive study conducted and the united maneuver on the part of all units stationed at the front has enabled to destroy the enemy in a short period of time, and that the heroic feast demonstrated there has been beyond explanation. They also called for proper documentation of the history so that it is transferred to generations.

Ms. Tsegereda Gebretensae and Ms. Tsa’edu Berhane on their part said that they feel proud remembering the heroism demonstrated during the operation for the demise of Wukaw Iz, and that it has been an occasion in which women combatants displayed extra bravery enduring natural and biological challenges.
