Inhabitants of Dubarwa sub-zone engage in popular undertakings

The inhabitants of Dubarwa sub-zone are engaged in dam construction and road renovation activities.

Dubarwa, 23 March 2014- The inhabitants of Dubarwa sub-zone are engaged in dam construction and road renovation activities.

Mr. Abraham Teka, Administrator of the sub-zone, indicated that in the months of January and February different popular activities including preparation of farm lands in which more than 86 thousand people participated, construction of terraces and water diversion schemes as well as renovation of roads have been implemented.

Ms. Okba Tesfai, work manager of the sub-zone, and Ms. Gidei Tsegai, inhabitant of Adi-Gebrai, said that water diversion canals have been constructed along the rivers and valleys that have been the causes for soil erosion.

Mr. Feshaie Ande, member of the People’s Army, on his part indicated that members of the People’s Army in the locality are working along side the inhabitants, and that they are glad to participate in such activities.

Likewise, Mr. Abraham Kidane, Administrator of Adi-Felesti administrative area, said that the inhabitants of the administrative area and members of the People’s Army assisted by machineries have renovated the 8km road linking their village with Adi-Nahbai.
