Gash-Barka region: Youths assert readiness to step up contribution in national development undertakings

Youths in Gash-Barka region, including students, have asserted readiness to step up contribution in national development undertakings being implemented in the region.

Barentu, 25 March 2014 – Youths in Gash-Barka region, including students, have asserted readiness to step up contribution in national development undertakings being implemented in the region. They made the pledge at a meeting conducted with Mr. Gide Seqar, acting head of the NUEYS branch in the region, during which he pointed out that remarkable accomplishments have been registered on the basis of higher youth participation and called for sustained initiative to this end.

Accordingly, a number of programs have been implemented in collaboration with the NUEYS and its stockholders in a bid to nurture versatile youths, thus witnessing a gratifying outcome. He further stated that communities and local administrators should extend a helping hand towards raising the organizational capacity of the youth.

Participants of the meeting expressed appreciation for the sustainable development achievements the nation is registering with a view to improving the livelihood of nationals.
