Elders in Anseba, Gash-Barka, Sudanese Kassala regions convey messages of condolence in connection with the passing away of veteran fighters

A group of Eritrean elders from the Eritrean regions of Anseba and Gash-Barka, as well as the Sudanese Kassala region conveyed messages of condolence in connection with the passing away of veteran fighters Maj. General Gerezgiher Andemariam (Wuchu), Brig. General Mebrahtu Tekleab (Vainak), Brig. General Amanuel Haile (Hanjema) and Mr. Desu Tesfatsion.

Asmara, 29 March 2014 – A group of Eritrean elders from the Eritrean regions of Anseba and Gash-Barka, as well as the Sudanese Kassala region conveyed messages of condolence in connection with the passing away of veteran fighters Maj. General Gerezgiher Andemariam (Wuchu), Brig. General Mebrahtu Tekleab (Vainak), Brig. General Amanuel Haile (Hanjema) and Mr. Desu Tesfatsion.

The elders jointly visited the mourning families, and called on the Eritrean people as well as their leadership to demonstrate steadfastness in this connection.

Sheikh Suleiman Ali Bitai from Kassala region, Sheikh Omar Mohammed Tahir and Sheikh Beshir Ali Bitai pointed out that they couldn’t attend the funeral ceremony of the late veteran fighters due to distance barrier, and said that we should put up the necessary efforts so as to honor the trust of the fallen heroes. They went on to indicate that the passing away of such esteemed nationals is of a great loss to the people and Government of Eritrea.

“The departed fighters’ tribute entailing their life-long contribution in the armed struggle for independence, safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and national development programs would remain cherished in the hearts of all nationals, and we will emulate their charismatic input,” they added.
