Asmara, 31 March 2014 – Area administrators in Logo-Anseba sub-zone made tour of Anseba region with a view to acquiring experience regarding soil and water conservation, and asserted that they would enhance role for the realization of the cherished goals in this regard.

Upon their exposure to the ongoing communal ventures in Balwa and Hashferai areas, they pointed out that the launching of similar undertaking would make significant impact in their respective areas.

Briefing the Area administrators, Mr. Zerai Nor, soil and water conservation expert in the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the region, said that the popular schemes have given rise to a remarkable outcome as regards prevention of soil erosion and enrichment of water resources, and that a raised community awareness prevails to this end.

Among the Area administrators, Mr. Gebre Kibrom and Mr. Angesom Asmelash pointed out that the places they visited have similar topography with their respective localities, and expressed readiness to demonstrate further commitment pertaining to prevention of soil erosion and enrichment of water resources.

In the same vein, Ms. Hadas Amanuel and Ms. Meaza Ogbai asserted that the secret behind the accomplishments registered by the visited communities constitutes higher community organization and harmony.
