Festival of Higher Education Institutions concluded with zeal

The 5th Festival of Higher Education Institutions yesterday concluded with zeal in the premises of Hamelmalo College of Agriculture witnessing the staging of a cultural show and sports as well as educational contests, besides presentations of research papers.

Hamelmalo, 31 March 2014 – The 5th Festival of Higher Education Institutions yesterday concluded with zeal in the premises of Hamelmalo College of Agriculture witnessing the staging of a cultural show and sports as well as educational contests, besides presentations of research papers.

Holding a seminar with students on the occasion, Mr. Semere Russom, Minister of Education, pointed out that such events are aimed at unraveling and encouraging the potentials among students, and advised them to remain steadfast against external conspiracies targeting them and the nation as a whole. He went on to explained the importance of events of this type vis-à-vis the national development programs and other State affairs, and urged students to keep intact national values, in addition to persistently striving for the realization of their visions.

Presenting a report on the occasion, Robel Kebede, Chairman of the event’s coordinating committee, stated that a total of 158 diverse sports contests were conducted involving 58 teams representing the colleges nationwide, and lauded all stakeholders in connection with it’s organizing.

Students and teams who won the contests received awards from Mr. Semere Russom and the College Deans. Accordingly, the College of Arts and Social Science won the event’s trophy.
