The administration of Dige sub-zone has called on the inhabitants to resort to effective wood enclosure management, and raise their awareness concerning preservation of trees, besides taking punitive action against instances of misdeeds in this regard.
Dige, 02 April 2014 – The administration of Dige sub-zone has called on the inhabitants to resort to effective wood enclosure management, and raise their awareness concerning preservation of trees, besides taking punitive action against instances of misdeeds in this regard.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Hintsa’ab Woldu, Head of economic development in the sub-zone, pointed out the importance of trees in socio-economic and environmental aspects of communal living, and called on the community members to demonstrate judicious handling of trees.
Mr. Kesete Gebreyohannes, Head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, explained that there existe diverse indigenous and other trees in the locality, and urged the inhabitants in general and farmers as well as herdsmen in particularly to demonstrate due responsibility to this end.
Participants of the meeting asserted readiness to enhanced efforts backing the endeavors being made regarding preservation of forestry and promoting environmental wellbeing.
