Health Ministry’s branch in Central region organizes training for 25 health professionals

The administration of Health Ministry’s branch in the Central region organized a training course as regards as regards treatment of psychiatric patients for a total of 25 health professionals.

 

Asmara, 03 April 2014 – The administration of Health Ministry’s branch in the Central region organized a training course as regards as regards treatment of psychiatric patients for a total of 25 health professionals.

Mr. Towolde Birhane from the branch office gave briefings to the trainees indicating that the Ministry has been exerting efforts in a bid to raise popular awareness against the stigma on mental illnesses. He further called on the trainees to extend helping hand in this regard.

Mr. Mihur Abraham, a psychiatrist in St. Marry Hospital, called on communities, governments bodies and the trainees to play due role in patronization of victims of mental distortion, and thus rising their production capacity.

In the same vein, Kokob Tesfai, health professional, pointed out that such trainings should be organized for communities so as to inspire communal care for nationals victimized by mental sickness.

Among the trainees, Ms. Semainesh Adhanom and Mr. Desale Melake asserted that they would translate the knowledge they have acquired into practice.
