At a congress conducted at the administrative area three in Massawa in which business owners and invited guests participated, Mr. Kidane Woldeselasie, Administrator of the port city of Massawa, called for popular participation aimed at augment community based sports activities.
Massawa, 6 March 2014- At a congress conducted at the administrative area three in Massawa in which business owners and invited guests participated, Mr. Kidane Woldeselasie, Administrator of the port city of Massawa, called for popular participation aimed at augment community based sports activities.
He indicated that the congress has been the continuation of the similar one conducted at the regional level aimed at strengthening community based sports activities, and that the interest being demonstrated by the participants attests to their deep love in sports and their initiative to its development.
Mr. Zerisenai Gaim, work manager of administrative area three, explained that such initiative has been taken by inhabitants of the administrative area to develop football sport activity, and that this congress is aimed at to incorporate other sports activities.
The participants on their part said that the congress aimed at strengthening community based sports activities would have strong contribution in physical and mental development of the their children, and called for including sports professionals and putting in place sports clubs and entertainment centers.
A committee that oversees the activities has been established, and the Massawa administration office contributed 30 thousand Nakfa towards sports development in the administrative area while the participants contributed 30 thousand Nakfa.
