The administration of the Southern Red Sea region organized a training course for a total of 100 members of communal water committees with a view to promoting effectiveness of water management.

Massawa, 07 April 2014 – The administration of the Southern Red Sea region organized a training course for a total of 100 members of communal water committees with a view to promoting effectiveness of water management. The training was given in collaboration with the regional Administration and Water Resource Development targeting inspiration of community awareness in this connection.

Among the trainees, Mr. Halo Egahle and Ms. Fatuma Humedin noted the vitality of the training in their daily activities vis-à-vis prudent utilization of water resources, and asserted readiness to translate the knowledge they have acquired into practice.

So far, a total of 90 potable water facilities that operate though solar energy and hand pumps have been put in place so as to meet the growing water demand in the region.
