The residents of Shambuko semi-urban center are engaged in soil and water conservation campaign through higher communal enthusiasm.

Shambiko, 08 April 2014 – The residents of Shambuko semi-urban center are engaged in soil and water conservation campaign through higher communal enthusiasm.

Mr. Bereket Mehari, Head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Shambuko sub-zone, disclosed that the undertaking is aimed at raising agricultural output on the basis of land restoration and constructing terraces.

Accordingly, the popular venture is scheduled three times a week and more than 3,000 hectares have been covered so far.

The participants of the undertaking stated that a remarkable popular awareness prevails to this end, and assured that they would sustain their initiative until the onset of the rainy season.
