Senafe, 09 April 2014 – A Students Week was conducted in Golo Administrative area, Senafe sub-zone, involving a total of 8 schools.
The event that witnessed the staging of sports, general knowledge, culture-bound contests and other activities is aimed at encouraging students to keep intact cultural values and inspiring their creativity as well as participation in implementation of national development programs.
Mr. Dawit Angesom, head of culture and sports in the Education Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, indicated that such an event has great significance as regards exchange of experience among students, besides its positive impact in promoting student harmony and competence. He further noted the irreplaceable nature of parental role as regards nurturing virtuous youths, and pointed out that the activity would continue in a more organized manner.
Mr. Beyene Tesfai, Head of the Education Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, outlined the need of furthering efforts in connection with organizing such events vis-à-vis raising the academic competency of youths, and called on communities to extend a helping hand to this end.
