Tessenei, 10 April 2014- The inhabitants of Gerset administrative area, Tessenei sub-zone, are in a position to be primary beneficiaries of Gerset Agricultural Project as it has started witnessing commendable harvest.
They further indicated that the project has ensured significant employment opportunities in the area, while registering an equivalent increase in production level. Accordingly, the awareness of the community regarding irrigation farming is on the rise, thus providing groundwork for introductions of modern agricultural practice.
Among the inhabitants, Mr. Idris Mohammed-Ali and Ms. Tiebe Habte indicated that their livelihood has shown remarkable improvement in connection with the productivity of the project, and voiced satisfaction with the putting in place of important irrigation facilities there.
Mr. Redae Bahlibi, head of economic development in Goluj sub-zone, explained that the project has made vital impact as regards creating job opportunities, while the inhabitants of Gerset, Goluj and Aklalat administrative areas are carrying out popular activities in the project.
