Call made on communities to raise participation regarding rehabilitation of children victimized by Autism and Downs Syndrome

The National Association of Autism and Dawns Syndrome Victims called on communities to raise participation regarding rehabilitation of children members.

Barentu, 12 April 2014 – The National Association of Autism and Dawns Syndrome Victims called on communities to raise participation regarding rehabilitation of children members. It made the call at a meeting in Barentu city with local and sub-zonal Administrators, community representatives, as well as line ministries, during which local Administrators should enhance role as regards identifying children victimized by the diseases.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Omar Mohammed, Managing director of the Administration of Gash-Barka region, expressed the Administration’s readiness to back up the joint efforts being exerted by the Association and its stakeholders.

Mr. Gebriel Fasil, Secretary of the Association, gave briefings in the course of the meeting focusing on the background, launching and goals of the Association, and said that popular awareness to this end is on the rise.

The participants of the meeting exchanged views as regards several issues.
