Association of National Voluntary Blood Donor opens branch office in Anseba region

The Association of National Voluntary Blood Donor has opened a branch office in Anseba region in line with the endeavors which have been exerted by the Health Ministry to ensure sustained blood supply.

Keren, 14 April 2014 – The Association of National Voluntary Blood Donor has opened a branch office in Anseba region in line with the endeavors which have been exerted by the Health Ministry to ensure sustained blood supply.

Speaking at the meeting thereof where representatives of the Association and members of the Ministry were present, Mr. Abdullahi Al-Amin, head of social service in the region, called on the inhabitants of the region to demonstrate higher inclination towards developing norm of blood donation.

Mr. Samson Gebresilasie, Chairman of the Association, on his part pointed out that shortage of blood supply used to prevail in connection with the fact that organization of volunteers used to be bound to the Central region only.

Likewise, Mr. Mekonen Tesfagiorgis from the National Blood Bank stated that the role of student volunteers is a prerequisite as regards securing safe blood, and that public awareness is on the rise in this regard.
