The inhabitants of Adi-Tekelezan sub-zone are engaged in soil and water conservation campaign with a view to raising agricultural harvest.

Adi-Tekelezan, 16 April 2014 – The inhabitants of Adi-Tekelezan sub-zone are engaged in soil and water conservation campaign with a view to raising agricultural harvest.

They further indicated that a remarkable popular awareness prevails to this end, and that they have been involved in such undertaking over the previous 6 months in collaboration with the members of the People’s Army.

Mr. Solomon Haile, Administrator of the sub-zone, explained that all Administrative areas in the sub-zone are witnessing similar popular initiative, and more than 1 million tree seedlings are due to be planted before the onset of the rainy season.

Dawit Foto from the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone disclosed that a 35 km-long terraces have been constructed by the community, and that a number of agriculture experts are participating in the process.
