The Education Ministry’s branch in Gash-Barka region, indicated that schools distribution and student registration has witnessed a remarkable increase in the current academic year.
Barentu, 16 April 2014 – The Education Ministry’s branch in Gash-Barka region, indicated that schools distribution and student registration has witnessed a remarkable increase in the current academic year.
Accordingly, the number of student admissions in the region has shown a 4% rise as compared to that of last year.
It made the remark at an assessment meeting in Barentu city, during which Mr. Mohammed Ali, head of the branch office, pointed out that more than 81% students in the region have obtained passing mark. He further called for further efforts in a bid to a still more gratifying outcome as regards inspiring female participation in education.
The meeting witnessed presentation of research papers voluntarily compiled by teachers targeting the teaching-learning process in general and student-related issues in particular.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Petros Hailemariam, Head of human resource development in the Education Ministry, explained that the region has registered remarkable accomplishment to this end, and disclosed that more training courses would be organized for teachers to raise their competence in researching.
Mr. Omer Mohammed, Managing director of the regional Administration, called on local Administrations to extend a helping hand towards promoting equitability of educational service vis-à-vis diversified demographic measurements. He also voiced the Administration’s readiness to collaborate in the endeavors being put up to advance educational activities.
