Mai-Aini sub-zone: ENWVA members who are engaged in irrigation farming voice satisfaction with credit opportunity

Members of the Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) in Mai-Aini sub-zone who are engaged in irrigation farming said that they are in a position to support themselves adequately on the basis of  the Association’s credit scheme.
Mai-Aini, 18 April 2014 – Members of the Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) in Mai-Aini sub-zone who are engaged in irrigation farming said that they are in a position to support themselves adequately on the basis of  the Association’s credit scheme.

Mr. Misgina Fisehaye, representative of the Association in the sub-zone, pointed out that it has been extending credit opportunities for members both financially and in kind with a major focus on those who are carrying out irrigation activities. Accordingly, a total of 26 water pumps have been distributed in the locality, while three-quarter of the beneficiaries have reimbursed their credits.

Reports indicate that the sub-zone’s suitability for irrigation and livestock production has provided groundwork for various members of the Association, including a number of females, to improve their livelihood.
Among the irrigation farmers, Mr. Girmai Tsegai and Mr. Araya Berhane asserted that they could settle their debts and raise capital through hard work.
