Efforts being exerted to develop teachers’ influence on students

At a meeting he conducted with teachers’ representatives in Anseba region, Mr. Musa Naib, Director General of General Education at the Education Ministry, indicated that strong efforts are being exerted to develop teachers’ influence on students for they are good examples of strong discipline.

Keren, 20 April 2014- At a meeting he conducted with teachers’ representatives in Anseba region, Mr. Musa Naib, Director General of General Education at the Education Ministry, indicated that strong efforts are being exerted to develop teachers’ influence on students for they are good examples of strong discipline.

He further stressed that the Eritrean people have strong respect on teachers, and that they should follow the values and ethical discipline of the society. He further indicated that guideline is being drafted to establish a committee that will oversee the discipline of teachers, and that the draft guideline would be distributed among teachers for further comments.

Mr, Mohammed Omar Abdalla, Head of Administration and Finance at the MOD branch in the region, stated that teachers have responsibility to transfer societal values to students, and that they would work hard so that teachers shoulder that responsibility.

The participants on their part expressed that the measures being taken by the Teachers’ Association represent the basic demands of teachers, and called for strong efforts to preserve and reinforce the ethics of teaching.
