The Administration of Awenjeli area, Hagaz sub-zone, has called for the upgrading of the available educational and potable water supply facilities in connection with increased settlements resulting from the community’s resort to community-based style of living.

Hagaz, 23 April 2014 – The Administration of Awenjeli area, Hagaz sub-zone, has called for the upgrading of the available educational and potable water supply facilities in connection with increased settlements resulting from the community’s resort to community-based style of living.

Mr. Ibrahim Jimi’e, Administrator of the area, pointed out that the putting in place of the potable water supply facility in 2006 could make positive impact as regards improving the livelihood of the inhabitants, and that an immediate initiative needs to be taken so as to meet the growing demand for water.

Mr. Osman Adem, member of the locality’s water management committee, expressed satisfaction with the supply the facility has been making so far, and equally voiced conviction that the capacity of the reservoir needs to be raised to ensure ample water supply.

Likewise, Mr. Kidane Habtegiorgis and Ms. Hajiya Hiyabu, teachers, stated that the popularization of community-based living style in the area has by and far favored the state of student admission.

Awenjeli is located some 7 Km. south of Hagaz semi-urban center, and the Administrative area is inhibited by around 2,000 people.
