The Ministry of Tourism’s branch in the Central region conducted a seminar yesterday with a view to raising student awareness regarding the sector.

Asmara, 23 April 2014 – The Ministry of Tourism’s branch in the Central region conducted a seminar yesterday with a view to raising student awareness regarding the sector.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Elsa Rusom, head of promotion, dissemination and education in the branch office, pointed out that tourism has vital importance impact in the social, political and environmental domains both in domestic and international scopes. In this connection, she said that the nation’s tangible and intangible cultural heritages have vital importance as elements of tourist attraction, and that efforts are being made for a still more gratifying outcome in this regard.

Ms. Elsa further outlined a number of prerequisites for tourism development, and called on the students to play due role in this regard.
