Training organized for farmers in Areda with a view to raising their awareness regarding management of water resources and grazing areas
Reports indicated that a training course was organized for farmers in Areda by the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Mogolo sub-zone with a view to raising their awareness regarding management of water resources and grazing areas.
Mogolo, 23 April 2014 – Reports indicated that a training course was organized for farmers in Areda by the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Mogolo sub-zone with a view to raising their awareness regarding management of water resources and grazing areas.
Mr. Gebregziabher Zerisilassie from the branch office pointed out that the training involved practical and theoretical aspects, and that it is aimed at supplementing their traditional knowhow thereof and thereby urging them to resort to more efficient approaches. He further indicated that a pond which can impound more than 120 cubic meters of water has been constructed in the area.
Mr. Fisehaye Zerai, head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, called on the inhabitants to utilize water from the new pond in a judicious manner.
The inhabitants of Areda village said that their livelihood has been improved significantly in line with the government’s commitment towards developing the area, and they expressed readiness to translate the knowledge they have acquired from the training into practice.
