Ambassador Girma Asmerom presents credentials to UN Secretary General

Ambassador Girma Asmerom has been appointed as the Permanent Representative of Eritrea in the United Nations, and presented credentials to the UN Secretary General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon yesterday.

Asmara, 24 April 2014 – Ambassador Girma Asmerom has been appointed as the Permanent Representative of Eritrea in the United Nations, and presented credentials to the UN Secretary General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon yesterday.

In the handing session, the Eritrean Ambassador delivered President Isaias Afwerki’s message conveying goodwill to Mr. Ban Ki-moon.

In the course of the meeting, both sides exchanged views focusing on bilateral and regional relations as well as issues. They further agreed to foster such discussion on the basis of continued meetings.

Mr. Ban Ki-moon said that he has a plan to visit Eritrea, and wished President Isaias good health.
