Eritrean athlete Mebrahtu Kiflezghi visits Office of the Permanent Mission of Eritrea to the United Nations

The New York and Boston Marathon winner and Olympic Silver Medalist Mebrahtu Kiflezghi of Eritrean-American nationality visited the Office of the Permanent Mission of Eritrea to the United Nations in New York City. Asmara, 29 April 2014 – The New York and Boston Marathon winner and Olympic Silver Medalist Mebrahtu Kiflezghi of Eritrean-American nationality visited the Office of the Permanent Mission of Eritrea to the United Nations in New York City.

He was congratulated by Ambassador Girma Asmerom, the Permanent Representative of Eritrea to the UN, and the Mission’s staff members.

The steadfast athlete voiced sense of pride for his Eritrean origin, and said that the Youth in general and Eritreans in particular should demonstrate focused efforts, dedication as well as discipline so as to attain cherished accomplishments in their lives. He also wished President Isaias Afwerki good health and prosperity to the Eritrean people, besides lauding the warm reception he was accorded along with Mr. Merhawi Kiflezghi, his brother and manager.

Ambassador Girma on his part expressed appreciation for Mebrahtu’s visit to the Eritrean Mission’s office, and wished him good luck in his future endeavors.
