The inhabitants of 15 villages in Mai-Mine sub-zone have carried out environmental hygiene campaign.

Mai-Mine, 05 May 2014 – The inhabitants of 15 villages in Mai-Mine sub-zone have carried out environmental hygiene campaign.

Mr. Yemane Haile, head of the Health Ministry’s branch in the Southern region, explained that the popular undertaking has remarkable impact as regards safeguarding community health in general and that of children in particular.

Mr. Major Tsegai, Administrator of Tsabla area, stated that community sensitization activities have given rise to extensive introduction of soak-pit latrines in the locality, and that the community members have started resorting to the regulations of use of such toilets.

Mr. Franco Kubaba, Head of social service in the Southern region, said that an accomplishment of this type could be registered thanks to the active communal initiative which is exemplary to the rest of the inhabitants of the region.
