Independence Week of schools was inaugurated in the Central region yesterday with zeal at Adi-Segido Elementary School in connection with commemoration of the 23rd Independence Day anniversary.
Asmara, o6 May 2014 – Independence Week of schools was inaugurated in the Central region yesterday with zeal at Adi-Segido Elementary School in connection with commemoration of the 23rd Independence Day anniversary.
In opening remarks on the occasion in which Maj. General Ramadan Awliyai, Administrator of the Central region, members of the Education Ministry’s branch in the region, sub-zonal Administrators, parents and students took part, Mr. Solomon Berhe, School director, pointed out that the event is making significant impact as regards popularization of cultural values among the young generation.
Parents noted the vitality of the Week pertaining to nurturing sense of responsibility regarding State Affairs on the part of the youth, and called for organizing it in a better manner in the future.
Participant students said that such event is a stepping stone to exchange experience, development of all-round youth potential and popularization of culture. They further asserted readiness to step up participation in such events.
The event witnessed the staging of photo exhibition which was inaugurated by the Administrator of the Central region and cultural shows depicting the Eritrean armed struggle for independence as well as the life style of the nation’s nine ethnic groups.
