Inhabitants of Hamelmalo and members of the People’s Army assert readiness to sustain participation in soil and water conservation activities

The inhabitants of Hamelmalo sub-zone and the members of the People’s Army have asserted readiness to sustain participation in soil and water conservation undertakings through constructing water ponds, micro-dams and water catchment walls.

Hamelmalo, 07 May 2014 – The inhabitants of Hamelmalo sub-zone and the members of the People’s Army have asserted readiness to sustain participation in soil and water conservation undertakings through constructing water ponds, micro-dams and water catchment walls.

They further indicated that they are currently engaged in construction of a micro-dam along Aderde River in a bid to meet the demand for potable water supply both for human, livestock and irrigation purposes.

Accordingly, a remarkable work accomplishment has been registered as regards securing water supply in the area.

Likewise, members of the People’s Army and EDF in the area noted the vitality of the communal undertaking vis-à-vis national development, and asserted readiness to sustain participation to this end.

Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Genfelom area are carrying out similar activities which are expected to be finalized before the onset of the rainy season.

Mr. Angesom Tesfasilasie, head of economic development in the sub-zone, pointed out that the communal venture is taking place in a total of 9 Administrative areas, and that gratifying achievement could be registered subsequently.
