Asmara, 10 May 2014 – Reports indicated that School Independence Week in the Central region is continuing in a manner that nurtures national and cultural values.
Mr. Estifanos Gebrehawariat, head of sports and culture in the Education Ministry’s branch in the region, pointed out that better organization has been witnessed in the current event in which all schools ranging from kindergarten to High School level are taking part, while participation of parents has become high.
Accordingly, the event is by and far aimed at inspiring awareness of the young generation regarding the armed struggle for independence.
Students expressed satisfaction with talking part in the event, and parents lauded the creativity demonstrated on the part of students.
Fashion shows, dramas, literary contests, exhibitions, songs and other activities are being staged at the event that would remain open until 19 May.
