National Reading Day observed

National Reading Day aimed at nurturing the culture of reading observed nationwide on 10th and 11th of May at the Expo compound under the theme “Bright future begins with Reading”.

 

 

Asmara, 11 May 2014- National Reading Day aimed at nurturing the culture of reading observed nationwide on 10th and 11th of May at the Expo compound under the theme “Bright future begins with Reading”.

At the opening ceremony in which Mr. Semere Russom, Education Minister, senior Government officials, stakeholders, parents and students participated, Ms. Azieb Tewolde, President of Eritrean Libraries and Information Association, said that the objective of the occasion has been to nurture the culture of reading among the society, and called for parents and the community to reinforce participation towards that end.

At the occasion different types of books were displayed.

Likewise, 20 thousands books have been donated to different libraries in the country by Eritrean nationals residing in Atlanta, USA.
