Residents of Tessenei conducting extensive preparation for rain-fed farming

The residents of Tessenei city are engaged in an extensive preparation for rain-fed farming before the onset of the rainy season.

Tessenei, 12 May 2014 – The residents of Tessenei city are engaged in an extensive preparation for rain-fed farming before the onset of the rainy season.

Among the residents, Mr. Hamd Tsaeda Mohammed, Mr. Gezae Gebremariam and Mr. Idris Ibrahim pointed out that the communal venture is aimed at soil and water conservation, as well as land preparation, and that they are working in an organized manner.

Likewise, Mr. Mohammed-Ali Ibrahim and Mr. Osman Ibrahim said that the undertaking also involves clearing of shrubs, besides renovation of the water diversion canal linking with Aligidir.

Mr. Abraham Asfaha and Mr. Abdu Ibrahim, Area Administrators in the city, disclosed that the ongoing popular task is a continuation of similar undertakings, and noted the effectiveness of such community-led activities.
