Central region: Inhabitants making preparations to add fervor to Independence Day observance through community festivities
The Holidays Coordinating Committee in the Central region pointed out that the inhabitants are making extensive preparations to give added fervor to Independence Day observance through staging community festivities.
Asmara, 14 May 2014 – The Holidays Coordinating Committee in the Central region pointed out that the inhabitants are making extensive preparations to give added fervor to Independence Day observance through staging community festivities.
Mr. Suleiman Yusuf, Secretary of the Committee, indicated that communal festivities of this type constitute a vital groundwork for popularization of national and cultural values, and disclosed that more than 200 banquets would be hosted in this manner all over the region.
Accordingly, Apart from sub-zonal celebrations, a total of 81 villages would be involved in the communal ceremonies that entail an environment for citizens to reiterate commitment to the nation.
The inhabitants of the region stated that the preparation is witnessing active community participation and high number of volunteers, and that it is nearing the finalization stage.
