Dige sub-zone: Public awareness on law described prerequisite regarding crime prevention

The Administration of Dige sub-zone indicated that public awareness on law is a prerequisite as regards inspiring communal participation in crime prevention. It made the remark at a meeting with the inhabitants, during which Mr. Humed Ela, Administrator of the sub-zone, pointed out the need to discourage environments for potential crimes.

Dige, 14 May 2014 – The Administration of Dige sub-zone indicated that public awareness on law is a prerequisite as regards inspiring communal participation in crime prevention. It made the remark at a meeting with the inhabitants, during which Mr. Humed Ela, Administrator of the sub-zone, pointed out the need to discourage environments for potential crimes.

Mr. Bitsueamlak Andebirhan, head of crime prevention in Agordat sub-zone, explained the mission of the Eritrean Police Force, and called for higher community collaboration in crime prevention.

The participants of the meeting said that seminars by the Police are of vital importance as regards to raising public awareness pertaining to law, and called for the organizing of more seminars. They also expressed readiness to enhance collaboration with the Police.
