The Managing director of the Administration of Gash-Barka region, Mr. Omer Mohammed, has called on youths in Haikota sub-zone to effectively utilize the continued educational opportunities accorded them at government expenditure.
Haikota, 16 May 2014 – The Managing director of the Administration of Gash-Barka region, Mr. Omer Mohammed, has called on youths in Haikota sub-zone to effectively utilize the continued educational opportunities accorded them at government expenditure.
He made the call at a meeting conducted in connection with the Youth Week of t he sub-zone, during which he gave briefings focusing on the endeavors being made towards promoting social services and furthering the pace of development activities, besides the role of youths in the nation-building process.
Mr. Omer went on to state that the spirit of steadfastness and dedication demonstrated by the young generation during the armed struggle for independence and safeguarding the nation’s dignity attested to the people’s bright future. Youths should prove higher awareness as regards psychological war and emerge being challenging to this end, he added.
Mr. Omer further asserted the Administration’s readiness to collaborate with pertinent bodies targeting popularization of cultural heritages as well as national values, and called on pertinent bodies to sustain input thereof.
Mr. Ghide Seqar, representative of the NUEYS branch in the region, pointed out that commendable efforts are being made on the part of the Union as regards nurturing virtuous youths in the region.
Participants of the meeting expressed satisfaction with the meeting and put forth views on various issues.
