Student Independence Week concluded in Central region

Student Independence Week of the Central region which has been underway from 5th to 19th of this month concluded yesterday at Emab-Tekera Junior School.

Asmara, 19 May 2014 – Student Independence Week of the Central region which has been underway from 5th to 19th of this month concluded yesterday at Emab-Tekera Junior School.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Belay Habtegabir, representative of the Education Ministry’s branch in the region, pointed out that a total of 297 schools took part in the event involving students aged between 4 and19. He further indicated that the event has made significant impact as regards depicting the Eritrean people’s steadfastness in the armed struggle for independence and safeguarding the nation’s dignity on the basis of cultural shows.

Mr. Tekeste Kifle, Chairman of parents’ committee in the school, expressed satisfaction with taking part in the event, and called on teachers as well as parents to enhance role in the teaching-learning process.

Likewise, teachers, directors and supervisors in the region indicated that student awareness pertaining to national and cultural values is witnessing impressive rise, in addition to higher academic performances.

Participant students noted the vitality of the event vis-à-vis inspiring their academic competence, and called for its organizing in a highly prearranged manner in the future.
