Barentu, 19 May 2014 – Reports indicated that Student Independence Week was conducted with zeal in Agordat, Gogne, Tessenei and Mensura sub-zones with enthusiasm involving a total of 14 Junior and Elementary schools and witnessing sports as well as cultural contests.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Teklebirhan Gebrewold, Administrator of Agordat sub-zone, pointed out the vitality of the event vis-à-vis encouraging student extra-curricular activities.
Different activities such as sports matches, cultural performances, general knowledge contest and calisthenics show were staged in the event in Gogne sub-zone which reportedly made significant impact as regards exchange of experience among students and schools, Mr. Dawood Hamd, head of the Education Ministry’s sub-zonal branch said.
Moreover, students in Tesenei and Mensura sub-zones demonstrated high spirit of competition in all the activities of the event.
