Independence Day celebrations continue with patriotic zeal in Hagaz sub-zone

Reports indicated that Independence Day celebrations are continuing with patriotic zeal in the Administrative areas of Hashihai, Gulia and Shengie, Hagaz sub-zone.

Hagaz, 20 May 2014 – Reports indicated that Independence Day celebrations are continuing with patriotic zeal in the Administrative areas of Hashihai, Gulia and Shengie, Hagaz sub-zone.

The ceremony conducted at regional level witnessed the lighting of an Independences Torch and the staging of cultural performances depicting cultural values, besides an exhibition of pictures portraying the Eritrean armed struggle.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Amna Haj, Administrator of the sub-zone, lauded the input of the inhabitants of the 3 area Administrations as regards organizing the ceremony, and called on them to put up continued efforts towards nurturing dynamic students.

Ms. Zeineb Omar, Head of culture and heritage in the region, on her part urged the inhabitants of Hashishai area to back up ongoing endeavors seeking documentation of historical events.

Community elders expressed appreciation for the government’s commitment regarding rural development, and said that the inhabitants’ resort to communal living style and the subsequent improvement of livelihood witnessed thereof is an outcome of a joint venture between the government and communities.
