Asmara, 22 May 2014 – The Eritrean community members in Canada have reiterated readiness to mount staunch resistance against external conspiracies. They made the pledge in connection with celebration of the 23rd Independence Day anniversary they conducted on May18 and 19.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ahmed Iman, Head of Consular Affairs in the Eritrean Embassy in Canada, congratulated the Eritrean people and their leadership, and expressed appreciation for those who made remarkable input in organizing the ceremony.
The event witnessed staging of cultural performances and sports activities, besides higher number of participant nationals.
The participants of the event expressed appreciation for the pace of the ongoing national development programs in the Homeland, and asserted that they would step up input in State affairs.
Meanwhile, Eritrean community members in North Carolina celebrated the 23rd Independence Day anniversary with patriotic zeal last Saturday.
The nationals were accorded briefings as regards the momentous Day and the momentum of the national development drive by the PFDJ head in Charlotte city. Cultural performances were also staged during the ceremony.
