Eritrean community members in Las Vegas celebrate Independence Day anniversary with patriotic zeal

 

Eritrean community members in Las Vegas, USA, celebrated the 23rd Independence Day anniversary on 21 May under the theme “We Toil Today for a Better Future”.

Asmara, 25 May 2014- Eritrean community members in Las Vegas, USA, celebrated the 23rd Independence Day anniversary on 21 May under the theme “We Toil Today for a Better Future”.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Girmai Issak, Chairman of PFDJ in Las Vegas, said that the external conspiracies waged against the Homeland to deter the development drive in the country have been foiled by the staunch resistance of the Eritrean people, and called for strengthening organization and the staunch resistance.

Mr. Aaron Ford, Senator of Las Vegas District, indicated that he has been impressed to observe the manner in which the Eritrean community members celebrate their Independence Day, and that it would be exemplary to other countries’ community members in the city.

The occasion has been highlighted with different cultural shows presented by members of YPFDJ and Hidri.

Likewise Ms. Caroline Goodman, Mayor of Las Vegas, indicated that the Municipality has decided that May 24 to be observed as “Eritrean Day”.
