Reports indicated that nationals residing in various countries have celebrated the 23rd Independence Day anniversary with higher patriotic zeal.
Asmara, 29 May 2014 – Reports indicated that nationals residing in various countries have celebrated the 23rd Independence Day anniversary with higher patriotic zeal.
The Eritrean community members in Belgium, Holland, UK, Sweden, France, and Germany celebrated the momentous Day with enthusiasm.
Speaking on the ceremony in Holland in which a n umber of nationals and friends of Eritrea took part, Mr. Solomon Mehari, the Eritrean Consul in the country, noted the heavy sacrifices paid for national independence, and gave briefings focusing on pace of the development programs being implemented in the Homeland.
Members of the Eritrean communities voiced resolve to step up participation in State affairs, while mounting staunch resistance against external conspiracies and pledging to raise community organization.
Meanwhile, the Eritrean community members in Washington DC and its environs marked Independence Day with nationalistic fervor.
The events witnessed the staging of cultural performances portraying the prevailing harmony of the Eritrean people, besides sports activities and other activities.
