Agordat, 02 June 2014 – The Administration of Agordat Hospital indicated that integrated efforts constitute a prerequisite regarding Malaria control. It made the remark at a meeting in Agordat city, during which Dr. Hayelom Kidane, Medical Director of the hospital, pointed out that remarkable achievements have been made as regards reducing instances of the disease, and called on government bodies to play due role to this end.
Likewise, Dr. Luel Banteyirga, Head of the Health Ministry’s branch in Gash-Barka region, indicated that instances and the negative impact of the disease could be lowered remarkably on the basis of integrated work, and that the regional Administration is in a position to control the disease.
Dr. Luel further indicated that government bodies and communities in general and the Health Ministry in particular are exerting commendable efforts to this end.
Mr. Teklebirhan Gebrewoldi, Administrator of the sub-zone, stated that the sub-zonal administration is exerting strenuous efforts as regards raising the role of community and promoting environmental hygiene with a view to controlling the disease.
