Asmara, 04 June 2014 – In an interview he conducted with the national media outlets, the Eritrean Ambassador to Italy, Mr. Zemede Tekle, pointed out that Bologna festivals by nationals residing in Europe since 1974 made significant input to the armed struggle for independence.
He further indicated that the event emerged as a continuation of meetings of affiliate nationals to the Eritrean People’s Liberation Movements all over Europe since 1970. This was aimed at making political and financial input to the Movement, besides familiarizing the Eritrean armed struggle with various Associations and movements, Mr. Zemede added.
Accordingly, a growing number of nationals who were committed to the armed struggle all over Europe gave rise to the need to assess activities in Bologna city, and hence the beginning of Bologna Festival.
The 40th Anniversary of Bologna Festival would be conducted from 4 to 6 July under the theme ‘’A LEGACY OF DETERMINATION AND INSPIRING MEMORIES’’ in a bid to inspiring the community’s memories and popularizing national values among youth members.
Reports indicated that preparations underway in connection with the forthcoming ceremony have reached finalization, and the activities due to be staged include presentation of Government statement, cultural performances and seminars, among others.
